According to the appeal of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident who collaborated with the FSB of the Russian Federation and committed treason under martial law has been sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property instead of 15 years of imprisonment.
The appellate court upheld the prosecutor's arguments, overturned the verdict of the first instance court, and sentenced the woman to the maximum penalty provided by law under part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Prosecutors proved in court that after the de-occupation of the regional center, the convicted woman worked as a nurse in one of the local hospitals and provided assistance to representatives of the aggressor state's special services. She transmitted data about wounded Ukrainian soldiers, their treatment locations, as well as information regarding the deployment, armament, and movement of the Ukrainian army and other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine via messenger.
The Russian occupation forces used this data to plan and adjust missile and artillery strikes on Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure.
The hostile informant was exposed and detained by law enforcement in Kherson. She awaited the court's verdict in custody.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
