The former deputy head of the state institution "Northern Correctional Colony No. 90" was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment with property confiscation for collaborationist activities (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was also deprived of the right to hold positions in law enforcement agencies for 14 years.

Prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office proved that in May 2022, during the temporary occupation of Kherson, the man voluntarily collaborated with the enemy. He held the position of deputy head in an agency controlled by the Russian occupation authorities — the "Department of the Execution of Sentences in the Kherson Region," which was part of the so-called "Federal Service for the Execution of Sentences."

The convicted individual carried out the orders of the occupation administration aimed at consolidating the temporary occupation of the region, coordinated the work of the institution, and made decisions that facilitated the functioning of the occupation regime.

Law enforcement officers uncovered him in Kherson during stabilization measures. Until the sentence takes legal effect, the man will be held in custody.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations located in the city of Melitopol, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
