Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, full compensation for damages to the local budget in the amount of over 10.3 million UAH has been ensured within the framework of a criminal proceeding regarding tax evasion.

The pre-trial investigation established that the director of one of the companies, conducting business activities in the city of Uman, used communal land plots without proper registration of usage rights and did not submit tax declarations for land payments.

As a result, the Uman City Council budget did not receive over 10.3 million UAH in rental payments during the years 2023–2025.

The actions of the official have been qualified under Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – intentional evasion of tax payments in large amounts.

During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect fully paid the amount of damages caused, as well as financial sanctions and penalties. The compensation was made before the person was brought to criminal responsibility, as confirmed by payment documents.

The criminal proceeding has been sent to court.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
