The prosecutor's office declared suspicion to two residents of Kherson region who worked in the occupation correctional colony

Two detained residents of Kherson, who collaborated with the occupying authorities of the aggressor state, have been informed of suspicion of collaborationist activities based on the collected evidence (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
After the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine and the temporary occupation of part of the region, a father and son voluntarily joined the service of the illegally created law enforcement agency "Northern Executive Colony (No. 90)" of the Department of the State Penitentiary Service in the Kherson region.
In the positions of junior inspectors in the security department of this correctional colony, they performed official duties to monitor compliance with the conditions of detention of prisoners within the institution.
At the request of the prosecutor's office, the suspects have been taken into custody without the right to bail.
Under the procedural guidance of the Chernihiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region with operational support from the territorial units of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
