Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding two managers of a contracting company and an engineer of the Chornomorsk branch of the State Enterprise "Administration of Sea Ports of Ukraine". 

The accused are charged with organizing and participating in the embezzlement of state funds in particularly large amounts. (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 4 of Article 358, and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that in 2023, the contracting company entered into a contract for the repair of crane tracks at one of the berths of the "Chornomorsk" port in Odesa region. 

After the work was completed, representatives of the company submitted acts of completed work with knowingly false information. In the documents, the cost of the materials used was artificially inflated several times.

The engineer of the state enterprise, acting in collusion with the contractor, signed these documents, which allowed for the illegal appropriation of funds. 

As a result of these actions, the state suffered losses of nearly 2.3 million UAH.

As part of the criminal proceedings, the regional prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit in court to recover the damages caused to the state. 

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Odesa region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
