The prosecutor's office is bringing the Russian occupiers to justice
19.12.2025
Prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office continue their systematic work on documenting and proving in court the war crimes committed by the military personnel of the aggressor state, in order to ensure the inevitable punishment of war criminals.
It has been established that in March 2022, two occupiers abused local residents of the Vyshhorod district in Kyiv region.
Thus, one man suffered numerous bodily injuries due to beatings: a soldier hit him in the face, head, and body with the butt of a rifle while conducting an "interrogation." He also struck the man in the thigh with a rifle equipped with a bayonet.
Another civilian suffered from the brutal treatment of another occupier, who ordered his subordinates to torture the man. The victim was illegally held for three days in premises without light, heating, or ventilation. He was not fed and received no medical assistance.
On the public prosecution of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found the first serviceman guilty of cruel treatment of the civilian population during the armed aggression against Ukraine and sentenced him to 11 years in prison (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Regarding the second Russian torturer, prosecutors submitted an indictment to the court for cruel treatment of the civilian population (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
