The Prosecutor's Office and the SBU exposed a woman who "cited" the enemy on the Kharkiv City Council unit
17.07.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, SBU employees reported a woman suspected of disseminating information about the movement, movement, and location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as producing and distributing materials that contain justification for the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (part 2 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in August 2022, an unemployed individual, while in the city of Kharkiv, recorded the location of Ukrainian military personnel. Subsequently, the Kharkiv resident sent this information to a pro-Russian chat. In April 2024, she became active again: the woman assisted in preparing a new strike by the Russian Federation on the location of one of the structural units of the Kharkiv City Council, where, according to her assumptions, military personnel of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were allegedly present.
In addition to transmitting intelligence data that fell into enemy hands, the investigation documented the systematic activities of the woman aimed at supporting the "Russian world." The suspect repeatedly published messages spreading pro-Russian disinformation.
Law enforcement officers uncovered the Kharkiv resident at her place of residence. A preventive measure has been chosen for her – detention without the right to bail.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by the SBU Office in the Kharkiv region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
