Prosecutors from the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regional prosecutor's offices ensured the conviction of three men for committing particularly serious crimes against children.
In Kharkiv, a 41-year-old man was found guilty of systematic rapes and the corruption of his minor stepdaughter, committed over several years. More than 40 episodes of sexual acts were established. His actions were classified under several articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provide for liability for crimes against sexual freedom and inviolability.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, a resident of the city of Pyatykhatky was sentenced to life imprisonment for intentional murder combined with the rape of a minor and theft (paragraph 10 of part 2 of article 115, part 5 of article 152, part 4 of article 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It was established that he lured a 16-year-old girl to a deserted area, raped her, and strangled her.
The court also agreed with the arguments of the head of the regional prosecutor's office and sentenced a 44-year-old man to life imprisonment for committing violent sexual acts, corrupting three minor children, forcing them to engage in sexual acts, and producing child pornography (part 6 of article 152, part 1 of article 154, part 2 of article 156, parts 1, 3, 4 of article 301-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). During the search, nearly 300 photo and video files containing child pornography were seized.
The courts fully supported the position of the prosecutors and imposed the harshest punishment – life imprisonment.
