The Podil District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has filed a lawsuit with the court to declare one of the contracts for the construction of a section of the Podil Bridge over the Dnipro River invalid, specifically the section from the Rusanivski Sady dam to Perova Boulevard.

In April 2017, the KP "Directorate for the Construction of Road and Transport Facilities of Kyiv" and a private company signed a contract for the construction of the Podil Bridge crossing. Over the past 8 years, the deadline for the work has been extended multiple times, and the cost of the work has increased from 1.7 billion hryvnias to 3.5 billion hryvnias, nearly doubling, as confirmed by 90 additional agreements to the contract.

As of July 2025, more than 2 billion hryvnias have been paid from the budget of the city of Kyiv.

At the same time, the decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine recognized that two participants in the tender for construction work (including the winner of the tender) committed violations in the form of anti-competitive coordinated actions, distorting the results of the tender.

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine concluded in its decision that these tender participants have common interests and interconnections. The companies attempted to challenge this conclusion in courts during 2022-2023, but courts of all instances denied their claims.

Thus, the Podil District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv has submitted a lawsuit to the court in the interests of the state to declare the contract invalid as it contradicts the interests of the state and society, and to recover the paid funds from the tender winner. The Economic Court of Kyiv has opened proceedings in the case.

It should be noted that a similar case is already pending in court based on the lawsuit of the Podil District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv regarding the recognition of the contract for the construction of the Podil Bridge worth 8.4 billion hryvnias as invalid.
