Prosecutors, together with investigators from the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, uncovered eight individuals of a drug trafficking group who were distributing drugs in the city.
All individuals have been notified of suspicion regarding the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, and sale of psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs in particularly large quantities (Part 3 of Article 28, Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspects were distributing methamphetamine and methadone in the city via the Telegram messenger through "stash" methods or directly from hand to hand. Payments were made both in cash and through transfers to bank cards.
There was a clear division of roles among the members of the criminal group: some were engaged in packaging the finished "product," while others were responsible for its sale.
According to preliminary estimates, the monthly profit from illegal activities amounted to 7 million UAH.
Law enforcement conducted over 30 searches, during which they seized drugs, psychotropic substances, 7 vehicles, mobile phones, computers, and cash.
Preventive measures have been chosen for the suspects in the form of detention without the right to bail.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, with operational support from the Department for Combating Drug Crimes of the regional police, under the procedural guidance of the Left Bank District Prosecutor's Office of the city of Dnipro.
