Juvenile prosecutors of the Kryvyi Rih Southern District Prosecutor's Office upheld in the appellate court the verdict of the first instance court, which sentenced a 67-year-old resident of the city to 14 years of imprisonment for the rape of a minor (Part 4 of Article 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The convicted man lured a neighbor's child into his home and, using physical force, raped her. At the time of the criminal acts, the child was 13 years old.

In April 2025, the first instance court found the man guilty of committing this particularly serious crime. The appellate court rejected the defense's appeal and supported the position of the juvenile prosecutors, leaving the verdict unchanged.

Information about the man has been included in the Unified Register of Persons Convicted of Crimes Against the Sexual Freedom and Sexual Integrity of Minors.

The verdict is now legally binding.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Kryvyi Rih District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
