Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the commission of a war crime that resulted in the death of a person (part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on October 22, 2025, at approximately 11:00, Russian military forces attacked the Kholodnohirskiy district of Kharkiv.

The strike was carried out by three strike UAVs, preliminarily identified as "Geran-2" type.

Impact was recorded on a private kindergarten, where children and educators were present at that time. Thanks to a timely move to shelter, there were no casualties among them.

Adjacent residential buildings and other civil infrastructure objects were also damaged.

A 42-year-old man, an employee of a municipal enterprise, was killed.

Another nine individuals — three men and six women — sustained injuries.

Prosecutors, together with other law enforcement officers, continue to document the consequences of the war crime and gather evidence.
