Donetsk region prosecutors have achieved 15 years in prison for the Kramatorsk resident for treason

Under the public prosecution of the prosecutors of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident was found guilty of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In court, prosecutors proved that in May 2024, the man met a serviceman of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on the banned social network "VKontakte." He openly expressed anti-Ukrainian positions and stated his intention to commit sabotage.

Subsequently, the accused agreed to provide information that could harm Ukraine's defense capabilities. He sent data about the locations of medical assistance for wounded servicemen, coordinates of the deployment of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, specifying them on the map.

The man was exposed and detained by law enforcement officers. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
