Kyiv prosecutors reported the suspicion of the Russian mercenary in the act

Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have reported suspicion against a young man for committing a terrorist act (Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a resident of Kyiv region, who was recruited by Russian special services and acted in the interests of the aggressor state, arrived in the capital with the aim of preparing to commit a terrorist act.

In execution of the enemy's task, the suspect manufactured an explosive device in a rented apartment according to the instructions provided by his curator. After that, the perpetrator of the crime purchased a scooter on an advertisement website, into which the explosives needed to be placed. The suspect was to leave the scooter with the explosives at a specified address in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. According to the plan, the homemade explosive device was intended to be detonated remotely at the moment when a serviceman approached it. However, by a miracle, the explosives did not function properly. For carrying out such a task, the young man was promised a payment of 400,000 UAH.

Currently, the suspect is in custody.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Kyiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
