Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General have reported suspicions against a former couple for treason committed by a group of individuals in collusion under martial law (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a major of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who is serving in Lviv region, was recruited by Russian special services through his ex-wife - a former military officer, who remained in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhia and began working for the enemy.
The subversive activities of the suspects were coordinated by a staff member of the special operations department "Alpha" of the FSB of Russia. He assigned them tasks to gather information about the Ukrainian military aviation. In this way, the enemy attempted to obtain the coordinates of operational airfields, logistics hubs, and maintenance centers for combat aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Additionally, at the curator's instruction, the man activated mobile operator numbers in Ukraine and passed them to his ex-wife, who distributed them among enemy agents for use in subversive activities against Ukraine.
During searches, a mobile phone containing evidence of criminal activity was seized from him.
He is currently in custody. The ex-wife, who is in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, has been notified of the suspicion in absentia.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, with operational support from the Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
