Prosecutors of the Attorney General's Office reported suspicion of the Armed Forces to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation involved in the execution of civilians and prisoners of war in the Kyiv region

During the period of temporary occupation of part of Kyiv region from the end of February to the end of March 2022, the suspect, the chief of staff of the 5th separate guards tank Tatynska Red Banner Order of Suvorov Brigade of the 36th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces, while at combat positions between the settlements of Berezivka and Buzova in the Bucha district, fully aware of the war crimes committed by his subordinates, deliberately took no measures to stop them and did not report this to the competent authorities.
As a result of his actions, subordinates of the Russian military shot 19 civilians and 4 Ukrainian prisoners of war. 17 civilians were killed, including a minor, as well as all the prisoners.
Based on the collected evidence, the aforementioned Russian commander has been notified of suspicion of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional killings.
The crimes are being documented within the framework of criminal proceedings under part 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the investigation of which is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Prosecutors continue to establish all circumstances and individuals involved in committing war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
