Prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding the director of one of the branches of the State Enterprise "Ukrvetzansad" in the Vinnytsia region, a former employee of the enterprise, and their accomplice.

The pre-trial investigation established that they, as part of an organized group, disposed of animal waste from production in unauthorized locations during 2023-2025 to minimize disposal costs. This led to the pollution of 2 hectares of land in the Khmilnytskyi district and severe consequences for the environment.

The amount of damage caused by their illegal activities exceeds 1.8 million hryvnias. To compensate for this, property of the accused valued at 8 million hryvnias has been seized.

Law enforcement conducted a series of investigative actions in the criminal proceedings, collected evidence, and in April 2025 notified all participants of the suspicion.

At the request of the prosecutor's office, the head of the enterprise was suspended from his position. During the investigation, he and the group members were placed under house arrest as a preventive measure.

Currently, the indictment under part 3 of article 28, part 2 of article 239 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been submitted for judicial consideration.

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region.

Note: according to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
