Prosecutors reported suspicion to the employee of the Nikolaev detention center for justifying the aggression of the Russian Federation and inciting hostility

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a junior inspector of the regime and security department of the State Institution "Mykolaiv Pre-Trial Detention Center" has been notified of suspicion for the production and distribution of materials that justify the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which began in 2014, as well as for the glorification of individuals involved in this aggression, committed repeatedly, and for intentional actions aimed at inciting national enmity and humiliating national honor and dignity (part 2, part 3 of Article 436-1, part 1 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the 44-year-old man actively published materials in pro-Russian Telegram channels, where he openly called for an attack on the building of the pre-trial detention center where he works, using offensive language towards employees and Ukrainian servicemen.

The suspect referred to his hometown of Mykolaiv as a "Russian city" and wished for it to be captured by the Russian troops. He characterized the occupation of Ukrainian territories as "salvation" and "liberation," and referred to Ukrainian defenders as "fascists," wishing death upon them. In contrast, he praised the Russian military and called them "brothers."

During a search, mobile phones and a tablet containing evidence of his illegal activities were seized from the suspect.

The suspect is in custody. If found guilty, he faces up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the territorial office of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
