Prosecutors have sent an indictment against an expert security officer who justified the actions of the aggressor state

Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General have sent an indictment to the court regarding a former law enforcement officer from the Zaporizhzhia region. He is accused of disseminating and publicly using the symbols of the communist totalitarian regime and the state symbols of other union republics, as well as justifying, recognizing as lawful, and denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorifying its participants (Part 3 of Article 436-2, Part 1 of Article 436-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the accused, starting from March 2022, supported the actions of the aggressor state. He approved of the Russian Federation's occupation policy towards Ukraine and expressed confidence in the victory of the Russian Federation in the war. The suspect denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, justified and glorified its participants.

Also, since March 2024, in one of the visual social networks, using his own account, he disseminated and publicly used images containing prohibited symbols of the communist totalitarian regime and the state symbols of other union republics.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine and under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Attorney General.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
