Prosecutors sent an indictment to the court regarding the participants of an organized group who established a drug traffic to the Kiev pre -trial detention center

Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General have sent an indictment to the court regarding six members of an organized group who established a scheme for supplying drugs, psychotropic substances, and potent medications to the Kyiv detention center. Four of them have "statuses" in the criminal environment.
Two brothers, who were previously held in the facility and received criminal statuses there, organized drug trafficking to the detention center. To supply the drugs, they involved another accomplice - a detainee of the detention center. Two other residents of the capital, members of the group, while at liberty, were responsible for forming "orders" and throwing drugs over the fence of the facility.
The group members purchased drugs and psychotropic substances, ensuring their "delivery" to the detention center. The received packages were distributed within the detention center. The earnings were shared among themselves, also replenishing the so-called "common fund" with certain amounts.
The organizers of the scheme also involved an accomplice - a detainee of the detention center and extorted money from other individuals held in the facility, threatening violence. The payment for a peaceful stay for them amounted to 2,000 US dollars. From one of the detainees, the group members received 80,000 UAH.
The accused are charged with establishing or spreading criminal influence, illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, sending, or sale of narcotic drugs or their analogs, as well as potent medications, and extortion (Part 2 of Article 255-1, Part 2, Part 3 of Article 307, Part 4 of Article 321, Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with operational support from the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine and the operational department of the State Institution "Kyiv Detention Center".
Note: according to part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
