Prosecutors of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, uncovered a well-known resident of Dnipro in the criminal environment for state treason. Since the winter of 2023, he has been passing information about Ukrainian military personnel to the enemy.

The 40-year-old citizen of Ukraine maintained contact with an employee of the Moscow FSB through Telegram. To maintain secrecy, he frequently changed phones and SIM cards.

He collected and transmitted to his curator photos and videos about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, and other military formations in Dnipro, as well as the coordinates of checkpoints, military units, fortifications, and medical infrastructure facilities, including a rehabilitation center and the office of an international humanitarian organization.

The man was detained at his place of residence and has already been delivered to the Chernivtsi region.

He has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a preventive measure has been chosen — detention.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 12 to 15 years.

Pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region with operational support from the counterintelligence of the Security Service.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
