Service in the armed forces of the aggressor state, facilitating the organization of pseudo-referendums in temporarily occupied territories, and state treason — prosecutors together with law enforcement agencies are exposing collaborators and traitors. All guilty will be held accountable according to the law.
Donetsk Region. 15 years of imprisonment for state treason and participation in a terrorist organization received by a “DNR” militant
With the support of the public prosecution of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, a man was found guilty of state treason, participation in a terrorist organization, and service in the armed forces of the aggressor state (Part 1 of Article 258-3, Part 1, Part 2 of Article 111, Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) who joined the terrorist organization “DNR” in 2014, where he received the call sign “Morphe” and fought against Ukrainian military forces near Sloviansk and Debaltseve.
In 2021, he signed a contract with the RF Armed Forces and, as part of the 54th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 3rd Army Corps, killed Ukrainian defenders near Izium and Bakhmut.
By the court's verdict, he was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, and also deprived of the right to hold public and state positions for a period of 12 years.
The court proceedings were conducted under the special court proceedings procedure in absentia. The accused is hiding on the territory of the RF.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi region.
Kherson Region. Two men sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment for organizing and conducting a pseudo-referendum
Under the public prosecution of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, two residents of Kherson and Donetsk regions were sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for collaborationist activities (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
They were also deprived of the right to hold positions in government bodies and participate in electoral processes for a period of 15 years.
The court established that in September 2022, one of the convicted held the position of the so-called head of the district electoral commission, while the other was a “representative of the DEC” created by the occupying authorities to conduct an illegal “referendum” regarding the “joining” of the temporarily occupied territory to the RF.
The “head of the DEC” formed the composition of the commission, organized the work, compiled voter lists, and accepted ballots, controlled the arrangement of polling stations and the availability of campaign materials. The other convicted issued ballots, checked voters against the lists, and campaigned residents to participate in the pseudo-voting.
The sentences were passed in absentia. The convicted will serve their sentences after their arrest.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the SBU in the Kherson region.

According to the investigation, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who served in the 1st Separate Feodosia Battalion of the Marine Corps, voluntarily switched to the enemy's side after the occupation of Crimea in 2014 and signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of the RF.
