Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, law enforcement officers uncovered and detained one of the deputies of the head of the Pishchanska united territorial community in the Dnipropetrovsk region while receiving and demanding an unlawful benefit.

According to the investigation, the official demanded an unlawful benefit of 9,000 US dollars from representatives of the company for agreeing to the placement of nine advertising structures on the community's territory.

The transfer of funds occurred in two stages: on September 9, 2025, he received the first part of the money – 5 thousand dollars in his office; on September 30, he received the final part of the unlawful benefit – 4 thousand dollars. After that, the official was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Prosecutors informed him of the suspicion under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an unlawful benefit by a public official in a large amount, combined with extortion). Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.

For the committed offense, he faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years and confiscation of property.

Investigative actions are ongoing to document the illegal activities and hold accountable other involved persons.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine. 

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
