"The head of the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation 'Hornostayevsky' has been notified in absentia of suspicion of cruel treatment of civilians, committed in conspiracy by a group of individuals (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the 41-year-old suspect, in June 2023, along with servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces, conducted a search in the house of a resident of occupied Hornostayivka. After beating the man, the occupiers detained him and his wife, took them to a seized police facility, where the suspect personally interrogated the victims, trying to obtain information about possible cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After several hours of torture, the couple was released.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Kherson region under the procedural guidance of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
