Countering corruption and theft

The Attorney General noted positive shifts in uncovering corruption during a coordination meeting of law enforcement leaders. At the same time, he pointed out that in certain regions, most of the investigated cases in this category are based on minor facts, “let's radically change our approaches to work, we need to move away from quantitative indicators and good statistics. The main indicator is the real result,” emphasized Ruslan Kravchenko.

According to the Attorney General, this primarily concerns holding accountable those who embezzle military property and budget funds, particularly allocated for security and defense needs, including the restoration of destroyed or damaged infrastructure, uncovering corruption schemes to evade mobilization and illegal transportation of individuals across the state border, as well as schemes that lead to the unlawful alienation of state and communal land. He particularly emphasized the need for real compensation for the damages incurred.

These issues must be under constant control, especially the commission of such crimes in organized forms,” said the Attorney General.
