According to the investigation, the lieutenant colonel illegally engaged four subordinate servicemen in private work during working hours from January 2024 to March 2025. By his order, they performed repair work in an apartment belonging to the mother of his cohabitant.

Despite the absence of the servicemen from duty, they continued to receive monetary compensation and additional rewards. As a result, the state incurred losses of over 700 thousand hryvnias.

Prosecutors of the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region submitted an indictment to the court against the deputy commander of the military unit for abuse of office (part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Second Investigative Department (located in Odesa) of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
