Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Kropyvnytskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, a serviceman has been exposed and notified of suspicion of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, a junior sergeant from one of the military units temporarily stationed in the city of Cherkasy has been collaborating with the Russian special services since May 2025. For monetary compensation, he transmitted information via the messenger "Telegram" about the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the line of combat engagement and the location and security of military facilities in the region.

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspect – detention without the right to bail.

The measures for the exposure were carried out by prosecutors in collaboration with investigators and operational staff of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
