According to the investigation, on January 9, 2026, at approximately 12:15, the Russian army carried out an artillery shelling of Kherson. The intensive care unit of one of the city's hospitals was hit.

As a result of the attack, three nurses who were in the hospital were injured.

Prosecutors and police investigators are taking all necessary measures to document the war crimes committed by the Russian military. Under the procedural guidance of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding the commission of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
