On October 22, 2025, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office announced the suspicion of the head of one of the village military administrations in the Beryslav district for embezzlement of budget funds through abuse of office and issuing knowingly false official documents (Part 4 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the official, responsible for implementing the Program for the restoration of private houses damaged by Russian shelling, entered into contracts with a contractor for repair work from August to November 2023.

The suspect signed acts of completed work and certified them with the seal of the village council without the conclusions of a certified technical supervision engineer.

For the work actually performed, the company was transferred over 3 million UAH. Of this amount, nearly 300 thousand UAH was paid without justification. Due to the embezzlement of budget funds in the interests of the contractor, the community budget suffered losses.

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative unit of the Beryslav District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
