Under the procedural guidance of the Volyn Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Western region, a scheme of illegal payment of monetary support to a serviceman who was not actually performing his official duties has been uncovered.

According to the investigation, the commanders of two battalions and the chiefs of staff of one of the military units provided false information in official documents regarding the soldier's participation in combat operations in the Kharkiv region.

Based on falsified reports and combat orders, the serviceman was unjustifiably credited with over 1 million UAH in monetary support, bonuses, and additional rewards.

In fact, from July 2024 to April 2025, the mentioned soldier not only did not perform combat tasks but was also completely absent from the unit's location.

All five individuals involved — commanders, staff officers, and the soldier — have been notified by prosecutors of suspicion of abuse of office committed by a group of individuals in collusion, which caused serious consequences.

Pre-trial investigation under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Volyn region based on materials from the Department of Military Counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine.
