Under the procedural guidance of the Reshetylivka District Prosecutor's Office, the village head from the Poltava region and the director of two companies have been notified of suspicion of embezzlement and misappropriation of over 5.2 million UAH of budget funds (Part 5 of Article 191, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During April to July 2023, the village head and the director entered into over 100 contracts for road repairs in the community. After the repairs, they signed acts of completed work, inflating the cost of gravel and the volume of work. Based on these documents, over 5.2 million UAH was unjustifiably transferred from the local budget to the two companies, causing the territorial community to incur losses in that amount. 

The pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings are being conducted by investigators of the Police Department No. 3 and the special police sector of the Poltava Regional Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Poltava region.        

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
