Ruslan Kravchenko met with the Head of the Council of Europe Office Machey Yanchak: discussed the intensification of cooperation and signed a memorandum

The Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko held a meeting today with the Head of the Council of Europe Office, Maciej Janczak, during which the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “CyberUA”.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Attorney General thanked the Council of Europe for its consistent support of Ukraine on the path to establishing sustainable peace and Ukraine's accession to the EU.
“We highly value the support of the Council of Europe as our reliable strategic partner. Thank you for your contribution, particularly in the context of Euro-integration processes, as well as for your support in the areas of investigating war crimes and developing cyber capabilities,” noted Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko.
During the meeting, the parties discussed common priority areas of work, including the investigation and documentation of war crimes by the Russian Federation, violations of international humanitarian law and human rights, and the further launch of the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
Particular attention during the meeting was given to strengthening cooperation between the Office of the Attorney General and the Council of Europe in the area of cybersecurity and cyber capabilities. To implement these intentions, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “CyberUA”.
The mentioned project is aimed at enhancing the capacity of the prosecution, law enforcement agencies, and the judicial system in the field of criminal justice regarding the handling of electronic evidence.
At the meeting, the parties also discussed the further implementation of international standards of justice.
