Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General, a special pre-trial investigation (in absentia) has been completed, and an indictment has been sent to court regarding the former head of the State Environmental Inspection in the Donetsk region.

He is accused of aiding in the embezzlement of budget funds through the abuse of official position as part of an organized group and official forgery (part 2, 3 of article 27, part 5 of article 191, part 2, 3 of article 27, part 3 of article 28, part 1 of article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the mentioned employee of the eco-inspection, who was not actually present on the territory of Ukraine and did not perform his official duties, continued to unjustifiably receive a salary from May 2022 to June 2024.

As a result of these actions, embezzlement of budget funds in the amount of over 1.6 million UAH was caused.

Previously, indictments had already been sent to court regarding the head and chief accountant of the State Environmental Inspection in the Donetsk region, who, according to the investigation, acted as part of the same organized group.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigations with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine and the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Kramatorsk.

Note: according to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
