An indictment against a former official of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been sent to court

Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General have sent an indictment to the court regarding the former head of the Central Department for the Provision of Fuel and Lubricants of the Logistics Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, the accused, being a person authorized to perform state functions and a subject of declaration, acquired assets from 2020 to 2024, the value of which significantly exceeds his legal income.

This includes 15 plots of land, three cars, an unfinished residential building, an apartment, and securities. The total value of these assets exceeds the declared legal income of the accused by more than 6,500 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens and amounts to over 17 million UAH.

According to the prosecution, the mentioned property was acquired with an intent to gain profit and without legal sources of origin. To ensure the further recovery of assets for the benefit of the state, a seizure has been imposed on this property during the pre-trial investigation.

In addition, during a search at the residence of the accused, law enforcement officers seized firearms and ammunition, which he illegally acquired and stored without the required legal permit.

It should be noted that the actions of the former official have been qualified under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal enrichment) and part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition).

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
