The death of the prisoner in the Kiev pre -trial detention center. As for 5 prisoners and 4 institutions of the institution, prosecutors have sent indictments to court

Under the procedural guidance of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the pre-trial investigation has been completed and an indictment has been sent to court regarding 5 prisoners, including the so-called "watcher".
According to the materials of the pre-trial investigation, in December 2024, the "watcher" along with other defendants inflicted numerous bodily injuries on the victim prisoner during a conflict, which led to his death. They will be tried for causing serious bodily harm resulting in the victim's death (Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
At the same time, we inform you that within a separate criminal proceeding concerning 9 employees of the State Institution "Kyiv Pre-Trial Detention Center", the pre-trial investigation has also been completed. It has been established that the prison staff attempted to conceal the crime by falsifying documents regarding the victim's health condition and documenting his placement in a punishment cell allegedly for violating the regime. Due to the failure to provide adequate medical assistance, the victim's condition sharply deteriorated, and only the next day was he taken to the hospital, where he died.
The indictment against 4 officials has already been sent to court.
After the other 5 defendants familiarize themselves with the materials of the pre-trial investigation, the case under Part 3 of Article 365, Part 3 of Article 367, Part 3 of Article 135, Part 2 of Article 139, Part 1 of Article 366, and Part 1 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine will also be sent to court.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by the employees of the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
