The Kyiv-Sviatoshyn District Court is currently reviewing a criminal case regarding the death of a 10-year-old boy on the territory of the "Olympic Village" complex in the village of Khodosivka, Obukhiv district.

The tragedy occurred on August 3, 2023, during the children's stay at a football camp. A minor drowned while swimming in a lake, having been left without proper supervision.

The following day, the coach who organized the children's stay was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (leaving in danger, resulting in the death of a minor). In November 2023, the indictment was sent to court. Thanks to the initiative of the prosecutor's office, the court proceedings have been accelerated: it is currently in the final stage of evidence examination, and six court sessions have been scheduled for the next two months.

Additionally, during the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the director of LLC "Football Academy Benfica Ukraine" committed gross violations of labor protection legislation, as confirmed by forensic conclusions, which led to the child's death. On September 1, 2025, she was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 271 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of labor protection requirements resulting in death).

Since the suspect is abroad, the prosecutor's office is taking measures to declare her internationally wanted and to initiate extradition.

Today, during the next court session, the defendants' lawyers filed a motion to disqualify the group of prosecutors in the criminal proceedings. The Kyiv-Sviatoshyn District Court denied the motion.
