Prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court against the director of a company whose main activity is the construction of residential and non-residential buildings, as well as the production of concrete products. He is accused of unjustified non-payment of wages (Part 1 of Article 175 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the accused, holding the position of director of one of the enterprises in Mykolaiv, unjustifiably failed to pay wages to his subordinates. He made full payments to himself.

Thus, from January to March of this year, the debt to 72 employees of the company amounted to over 2.5 million UAH.

Having a real opportunity to settle the debt, the official directed funds to other, less priority needs: payment of utility services and the purchase of materials for work. Importantly, according to current legislation, wage arrears must be paid as a priority.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the police department No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.

During the pre-trial investigation, prosecutors ensured the full reimbursement of the debt to the employees of the enterprise.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
