The case of fraudulent acquisition of forest land near the Mygovo ski resort was referred to the court
04.12.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the pre-trial investigation has been completed and an indictment has been sent to court regarding the wife of an official from the Myhiv Village Council in the Chernivtsi region and three individuals close to her.
According to the investigation, at the beginning of 2022, the woman organized a group of individuals close to her to illegally seize land plots from the forest fund located at the top of a mountain near the Myhiv ski resort.
Subsequently, acting with selfish motives, the members of the organized group used forged state acts of private ownership of land to produce land-technical documentation, assign cadastral numbers, and carry out state registration of ownership rights to the formed land plots.
It has been established that based on the forged documents, the state registrar registered ownership rights for the group members to land plots with an area of 6 hectares, located within the Myhiv forestry of the Berehomet forestry (Branch "Podilskyi Forest Office" of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine"). The estimated value of this land is 3.45 million UAH.
After formalizing ownership based on the forged documents, the participants in the scheme divided these lands into smaller plots to sell them to a pre-identified buyer. The sale was conducted at undervalued prices.
It is worth noting that in September 2025, prosecutors from the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General informed the mentioned individuals of their suspicion of fraudulent acquisition of forest land plots located within the Myhiv forestry and their legalization through sale (Part 4 of Article 190 (valid until 11.08.2023), Part 3 of Article 28, Part 4 of Article 358, Part 3 of Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the State Bureau of Investigations with operational support from the 1st Department of the "D" GU of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
