The case of a clergyman from the Volnovaksky district, who cooperated with the FSB of the Russian Federation, was directed to court

The accused – the rector of the UOC temple in the Volnovakha district established contact with a representative of the special services of the aggressor country. He communicated via Telegram with an FSB employee of the Russian Federation and voluntarily agreed to cooperate and conduct subversive activities against Ukraine.
In particular, the priest sent text messages to the Russian curator about the location of Ukrainian servicemen, as well as fortifications being built to deter the enemy at important strategic points. He also disclosed the locations of repairs for military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and reported on the combat operations of self-propelled artillery units. At the same time, he was aware that the Russian Armed Forces could deliver fire strikes on populated areas.
For substantive consideration, prosecutors from the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office referred the case regarding state treason to the court.
The accused is in custody without the right to bail. For state treason under martial law, he faces imprisonment for a term of fifteen years or life imprisonment, with confiscation of property.
Operational support in the criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine was provided by employees of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
