Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Kostiantynivka has been exposed for transferring military information to representatives of the Russian special services for conducting subversive activities against Ukraine. 

He has been notified of suspicion of treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen.

In September 2024, a resident of a frontline settlement, supporting the invasion of the aggressor state's troops into our territory, began sending defense-related data to a Russian chat bot. 

By June 2025, he voluntarily contacted the administrator of a pro-Russian group on Telegram. The man offered his assistance in locating and destroying units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in Kostiantynivka and began sending operational information.

Subsequently, the interlocutor introduced the suspect to a representative of the Russian security forces, who is directly responsible for conducting combat operations in the Kostiantynivka direction. The man agreed to cooperate with the new curator and began actively gathering intelligence information for him.

During walks around the city, he gathered information on the locations of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also recorded and transmitted information about the locations of fortifications, military equipment, artillery firing points, and drone launch sites. In addition, he reported the coordinates of residential buildings to the enemy. 

After some time, the agent was offered to work for another representative of the Russian security forces. Agreeing, the man began sending him text and graphic messages indicating the positions of multiple rocket launchers, Ukrainian defenders, and the movement of armored vehicles, so that the Russian troops could strike them.

In total, the agent managed to transmit data on 25 positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, his illegal activities have been halted. 

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of 15 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
