With the participation of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the cancellation of the protected status of the landscape reserve "Protasiv Yar" in Kyiv has been prevented.

The Economic Court of Kyiv denied the claim of one of the economic entities that sought to annul the decision of the Kyiv City Council regarding the establishment of the reserve. The company argued that it was a user of over 1 hectare of land in the area and planned large-scale construction.

Environmental prosecutors proved in court that the lease agreement for this land had been terminated more than ten years ago. They insisted that any construction within the protected zone is unacceptable, as it would lead to the loss of a unique natural complex, the destruction of species listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, and harm to the archaeological heritage.

The court agreed with the arguments of the prosecution and upheld the decision to establish the landscape reserve.

The Office of the Prosecutor General will continue to take systemic measures to protect the territories of the nature reserve fund, which are a national treasure and are under special state protection.
