Prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Central Region have submitted an indictment to the court against two officials of one of the commands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the fact of offering and receiving unlawful benefits for influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions, committed in conspiracy by a group of individuals (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It has been established that in January 2025, a lieutenant colonel offered a conscript a monetary reward of 4,000 US dollars to organize the updating of military registration data at the capital's Military Registration and Enlistment Office. He promised to influence the officials of the Military Registration and Enlistment Office of Kyiv regarding the entry of information into the register and the issuance of necessary documents without the risk of mobilization. After the updating of military registration data, the lieutenant colonel received the agreed amount. 

Subsequently, he involved his superior in the illegal activity, who had relevant connections in the Volyn region.

Thus, they offered citizens a monetary reward ranging from 9,000 to 13,000 US dollars to influence the officials of one of the Military Registration and Enlistment Offices in the Volyn region regarding registration for military service without personal presence. For this, they independently prepared documents, arranged fictitious grounds for residence, and underwent a military medical commission. 

During the receipt of the last part of the unlawful benefit in the amount of 13,000 US dollars, they were exposed and detained.

The accused face a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Kyiv.
