According to the investigation, the official failed to ensure proper control and allowed the illegal logging of 84 trees within the nature reserve of the Svidovets forestry. An engineering and ecological examination confirmed that the amount of damage exceeds 4.5 million UAH. 

The actions of the suspect have been classified as official negligence that caused severe consequences (part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The measures for uncovering the crime were carried out by prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office in cooperation with the Strategic Investigations Department in the Transcarpathian Region of the National Police, the Lviv Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigations, and with the assistance of the Internal Security Department of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

The indictment has been sent to the Rakhiv District Court for substantive consideration. 

Earlier, the Transcarpathian Prosecutor's Office approved and sent to court an indictment against an official of the "Yasinyansky Forestry and Hunting Economy" branch of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine", due to whose official activities nearly 3,400 trees of various species were illegally cut down in the territory of the Lazeshyn Forestry, causing damage of almost 55.8 million UAH.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
