A doctor and a resident of Kryvyi Rih will be tried for fictitious documents for deferment from military service
06.11.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, on October 30, 2025, an indictment was sent to court against two individuals for the fact of abuse of influence, committed by a group of individuals in prior conspiracy (part 2 of article 28, part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that one of the accused, a therapist at a medical institution in Kryvyi Rih, together with an accomplice—a local resident—organized a scheme of "assistance" for men who sought to obtain a deferment from military service.
Thus, the local resident found a conscript and offered him, for a monetary reward, to arrange fictitious medical documents.
The role of the doctor was to influence the head of the neurology department to ensure the man's stay in inpatient treatment, undergo necessary examinations, and receive false medical conclusions about unfitness for service.
The cost of obtaining the fictitious documents was estimated by the accused at 5 thousand US dollars.
Law enforcement officers exposed the individuals in August 2025 during the receipt of the agreed sum.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region with operational support from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
