08.09.2025
Prosecutors of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding an organized group that profited from the illegal sale of narcotic substances in Sloviansk.
The investigation established that in January 2025, a woman, previously convicted for drug possession, decided to establish a drug trafficking operation supplying methadone to the frontline city. She arranged for the wholesale supply of the "product" with an acquaintance from Kyiv, who sent her the narcotic in boxes of household items.
The accused also involved her cohabitant in the criminal scheme. He ordered and received packages, weighed, and packaged methadone into zip bags. He also passed orders to two partners responsible for finding and servicing clients.
Methadone was dispensed with adherence to conspiracy measures, exclusively to verified individuals and only after full payment. Its monthly turnover, at "black market" prices, ranged from 50,000 to 100,000 UAH.
In May 2025, law enforcement uncovered and halted the illegal activity. During searches at the residences of the suspects, methadone, cannabis, two grenades – F-1 and RGD-5, and 86 cartridges were discovered and seized.
The actions of the accused have been qualified under Part 1 of Article 263, Parts 2 and 3 of Article 307, and Parts 1 and 2 of Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the request of the prosecutors, they have been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Donetsk region.
The organizer of the group and two co-executors face 9 to 12 years in prison, while the other participants face 6 to 10 years of imprisonment, with confiscation of property.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
