Terrout in Rivne Century - Three Persons will stand before the court

Prosecutors of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office have sent an indictment to the court regarding three residents of the regional center involved in organizing an explosion near the shopping mall in Rivne, which occurred on March 20 of this year.

The investigation established that one of the accused received instructions via a Telegram channel with diversionary intentions. For 12,000 UAH, he was tasked with making an improvised explosive device, which the client planned to use for a terrorist act near the regional police headquarters.

To carry out the task, the man bought a fragmentation grenade F-1 and a fuse from an acquaintance, and together with a friend, assembled the explosive device in his garage. When everything was ready, they hid the explosives in a box from an alcoholic beverage, armed it, and delivered it to the location specified by the client for further transportation to the planned site of the terrorist act.

However, they did not deliver the device to the police headquarters — it exploded prematurely, near one of the shopping malls. At that time, two people sustained bodily injuries, and vehicles of random victims were destroyed and damaged.

Law enforcement quickly identified those involved. At the home of the main executor, another defensive fragmentation grenade F-1 and its fuse were seized.

Now he and his accomplices are charged with the acquisition and storage of military ammunition without the required legal permission, illegal manufacture of an explosive device, as well as completed attempted terrorist acts committed by a group of persons in conspiracy (Part 1 of Article 263, Part 2 of Article 263-1, Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Rivne region.
