Three persons were notified of suspicion for extortion of 200,000 US dollars and robbery

Under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, three residents of the region have been exposed and detained for demanding nearly 200 thousand US dollars from a local family and committing robbery.

According to the investigation, a group of individuals connected to the criminal environment had been demanding the "repayment" of a non-existent debt from the family of entrepreneurs for an extended period. By threatening the life and health of their teenage son, applying psychological pressure and physical violence, they forced the victims to transfer their property and land. Despite this, they continued to demand money.

When the victims refused to comply with the illegal demands, the suspects resorted to even more aggressive actions. By tracking the victims and taking advantage of their vulnerable state, they committed robbery—using physical violence, threatening with weapons, and forcing them to sign new debt acknowledgments for significant amounts.

Law enforcement documented the illegal activities of the group. As a result of investigative and operational measures conducted by prosecutors of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office in conjunction with the Investigative Department of the National Police and the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region, three individuals were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

During searches, physical evidence, documents, notarial contracts, powers of attorney, acts of transfer of shares in enterprises, cash, and weapons were found, which may indicate other offenses.

Three individuals have been notified of suspicion of committing criminal offenses under Part 4 of Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a motion has been filed for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of bail.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. All circumstances of the crime, the role of each participant, and the possible involvement of the suspects in other similar offenses in the region are being established.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
