A scheme for the appropriation of six hectares of forest land near Bukovel has been uncovered. Three individuals, including a state cadastral registrar, have been notified of suspicion for document forgery and fraud. According to the investigation, they used fake acts to "remove" the plots from state ownership, causing the state losses exceeding 20.5 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General, three individuals have been notified of suspicion for forgery and use of forged documents and fraud (Part 3, 4 of Article 358, Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that individuals, together with the state cadastral registrar and other participants, organized a scheme to seize 6 hectares of forest fund land in the Ivano-Frankivsk region - near the village of Polyanytsia and the tourist complex "Bukovel".
To legalize the illegal acquisition of land, they used forged acts of ownership for plots from 2001-2002. Based on these documents, the suspects produced technical documentation, after which the state registrar entered false information about the registration of ownership rights into the State Register of Real Rights.
Such actions led to the removal of land from state ownership. According to the expert conclusion, the losses incurred by the state exceed 20.5 million UAH.
Within the framework of the criminal proceedings, law enforcement conducted authorized searches in the Dnipropetrovsk and Khmelnytskyi regions at the residences of the suspects and at the addresses of legal entities. Documents and information carriers containing evidence of the organization of the scheme were seized.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with operational support from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
