In Kiev, a man for $ 7000 CSSha promised to help withdraw mobilized from the military unit - prosecutors told him about suspicion

Prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office have notified a 20-year-old man of suspicion for extorting and receiving money from the wife of a mobilized individual in exchange for assistance in declaring her civil partner unfit for military service and subsequently removing him from military registration.

The conscripted resident of Kyiv was mobilized and sent to serve in one of the military units. The suspect, posing as a law enforcement officer, promised to use his connections and acquaintances to arrange for an order to be issued from one of the TCCs and SPs to recall the man from the unit where he was serving.

Subsequently, based on the decision of the Military Medical Commission, the mobilized individual was to be declared unfit for military service due to health reasons, and later, by the decision of the TCC and SP, removed from military registration with the appropriate notation in his military ID.

The suspect valued such services at 7,000 US dollars.

During the receipt of an "advance" of 5,000 US dollars, the man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

His actions have been classified under part 2 of Article 28, part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, specifically as receiving unlawful benefits for himself by influencing the decision-making of a person authorized to perform state functions, combined with extortion of such benefits, committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy.

The sanction of the article provides for up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv with operational support from the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
