Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, a 39-year-old citizen of Turkey has been notified of suspicion of committing sexual violence against a 10-year-old boy.
Initially, law enforcement became interested in the foreigner because he had a quarrel with his former cohabitant and, out of jealousy, set fire to the apartment rented by the woman, as well as stole her laptop. The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Mobile phones were seized from the detainee.
During the examination of one of them, a video featuring the man and the minor boy was discovered, which recorded violent sexual acts against the child. It was established that the boy in the video is the 10-year-old son of the woman with whom the Turkish citizen had a relationship previously. The man filmed his actions on video.
Thus, the detainee has been notified of suspicion not only for committing arson and theft of his former cohabitant's belongings (Part 4 of Article 185, Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), but also for sexual violence against a minor (Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
A preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of bail has been chosen for him.
The sanctions of the articles provide for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors of the Desnyansky District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv by investigators of the Desnyansky Police Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
